Rumours - Its worth
noting when I started work at Daily Bread 20 years ago rumours
went around that we closing down soon every year of my time
at Daily Bread.
20 years later we still here.
We are here again so to hopefully to put people minds at ease
we have prepared a statement.

'After 28 years in the Old Laundry,
our lease comes to an end in December 2009. We are viewing
the end of the lease as an opportunity to look for new premises
that serve our customers better.
We would expect to achieve the following advantages: -
- an
ever-increasing product range and more storage space for these
products, (New premises will lead to better displays in our
new shop and better ‘buying power’ i.e. bulk purchases
to offer a better price & quality to you our customers)
- the
ability to offer a better working environment for our workers
and a better shopping experience for our customers
- the
ability to offer a better service to the Community of Northampton;
to continue to build on our social objectives of concern for
people, the environment and of course providing wholesome foods
for a healthier lifestyle
We have explored the possibility of renewing the lease, but
this option is not available; therefore we are intending to
secure new premises before December 2009. We are asking for
prayers and support in finding the best place for our future.

In a nutshell (no pun intended) the present
buildings have become unsuitable even if we could stay, so we
want something better.
The new Till system (again) while the tills
work fine the 'back office' part of the software - well, we
are far from happy with its performance. Lets say if you wish
to purchase a epos system I would not really recommend a company
called Bleep Computing, it's problems have caused a big delay
in producing a printed product list and a overdue upgrade to
our web site in particular the online store. So we are sorry
to all our customers who want a product list etc, please be
patience.
Old news
We have
had a new Till and stock control system installed. Because
of (as is always the way with computers!) had a few 'tech'
issues to overcome and training of staff on the system. So
thank you for being patience with us while we settled the system
in.
This has meant a delay in
producing the new product list which will now be out early
in the new year.
