Outbound calls
Register your BT or cable line with The Phone
Co-op and watch your phone bills shrink – on
average residential customers save 35-50% on
their calls. BT services such as 1471, 1571 and
CallMinder remain unaffected. Each month you
receive an itemised bill from The Phone
Co-op for the calls you have made using our service
and payment will be collected by Direct Debit.
You continue to pay line rental to BT or your
cable company.
Automated access
If you
have a BT line, we can arrange with BT to have
your calls automatically routed over our service.
Automated access is free for anyone spending
over £50 per quarter on calls
with BT. If you spend less, there is a one-off £5
charge. Simply tick the automated access option
on the application form. Cable users access the
service by dialling a prefix code which can be
programmed into your phone.
Cost code billing
If you live in a shared house or work from home, The Phone
Co-op offers a free cost code billing service
which allows you to allocate a two-digit code
to each outbound call. Your Phone Co-op bill
will then show your calls sub-divided by code.
Please note that this service is not compatible
with automated access.
Internet services
We offer a range of internet access services
to meet the needs of every type of user. Our unmetered
service provides free calls to the internet
for a flat monthly fee. Pay less as
you go is a low-cost
dial-up service which is billed retrospectively
along with your phone calls. All new customers
are sent information about our internet services.
Free 0845 number
A Phone Co-op 0845 number allows people to call
you from anywhere in the UK for the cost of a
local call. Calls to your 0845 number are directed
to your home telephone. average residential customers
save 35-50% on their calls. BT services such
